About

Welcome to my home in Blogland!

My first year out of college, I purchased a 3/4 size antique iron bed at a rural farm auction in Indiana.  I can still see that bed today sitting in the grass waiting for my bid.  It has traveled with me through jobs, marriage and now rests in my daughter’s room.  At the next farm auction, I acquired a beautiful set of 12 pink etched water and wine glasses.   After the bidding ended, my favorite high school science teacher approached me to let me know they had belonged to his grandmother.  They have graced our holiday table every year since then.

That was almost 35 years ago and I have faithfully lived my life in vintage.  I am a serial collector, an avid seeker and seller of all things vintage.  There is a story that accompanies almost every item in our home.  I am married to a very understanding man who now knows vintage comes in sets of three.  I am also a mother to four almost grown adult children who, when they aren’t threatening to have a big garage sale here, have finally seen the light and are attending flea markets on their own.

I believe that some of us are chosen to be caretakers of these treasures to assure they travel into the next generation and live on far into the future.  So, to answer the question, what are you going to do next, Mom?  This is it!  My next big adventure.
