Wood Burned Spoons

Okay, these are definitely not as easy to do as they look.  This was my first attempt at wood burning spoons.  I now have great admiration for the wood burner crafters of the world especially those spoons on Etsy.  Whew!  I think you need a lot of practice and patience to do this right.  Patience is not my strong suit so this might just not be my medium.  So much for the “I can do that” mantra.

Modge Podge Painted Glass

It’s been a while since I’ve been crafting, but now that Christmas is finally over, I actually have a little time on my hands.  I decided to jump on the Pinterest bandwagon and try some Modge Podge glass painting.  Everyone has been doing Mason Jars and tons of them.  I found the Michigan cherry plate at a local thrift shop today for $4.  I followed the directions that were dummy proof:  add food coloring to Modge Podge, paint it on the glass, and then bake at 200 degrees for about a half an hour.  It worked!  Though, I’m not sure now long it will last.  It definitely does give this little vintage cherry plate a lift.

Christmas Soaps Vintage Style

Remember that post about the Madeleine pan?  Well, I finally got around to making some Christmas soaps vintage style.  I think they came out pretty good.  All you need to do is microwave some glycerin soap in a glass measuring cup, add food coloring, pour in the the mold that has been sprayed with Pam then pop into the refrigerator for about 15 minutes and they are done.  Much easier than cooking!  These will be my homemade Christmas gifts this year for friends.  Now, I’m off to find some cute packaging.  Linking to:  Gift Giving Favorites on The First at the Polohouse, Vintage Inspiration Friday, Saturday Night Special, Sunday Showcase

Monday Morning

It’s Monday.  Need I say more?  I made the soap dispenser saying.  I’m not sure anyone here is listening.
