Plumbing Pipe Coffee Table

My daughters don’t seem to be interested in antique furniture, instead they are drawn to the industrial look.  Not sure how that happened.  I’ve been spending my time watching my husband make plank tables, benches and his latest creation, this plumbing pipe coffee table for my younger daughter’s apartment.  It turned out pretty cute considering.  We found the instructions online here.  I think she gets delivery this weekend and should be very thankful to her father.

Vintage School Desk

This is my inspiration piece.  I have one of these vintage school desks sitting in my attic waiting to be painted.  Soon we will be able to compare the two.

Hand Painted Dresser

People who know me well can attest to my fondness of mahogany furniture and the color black.  As I rounded the corner at a recent estate sale, there sat a vintage mahogany dresser in black semi-gloss with the hand painted pears.  It is a lovely combination that I’m saving in my idea files for the future.  Linking to:  Furniture Friday

Re-Purposed Library Card Catalog

I actually do have have vintage library card catalog doing double duty in my home.  It houses my vintage postcard collection.  And no, not every drawer is full yet!  The bell collection resting on top of the cabinet was started in honor of my Theta sisters from Indiana University and reminds me of them every time I walk by.  Corinthians 13.  And finally, with the marble top it acts as server in the dining room every now and then.    I highly recommend them for use.
