Just wanted to share some of my favorite pins from my vintage Christmas jewelry collection.  My favorite part of this season is to be able to take these lovely works of art out of the drawer and wear them out and about throughout the holiday season.  Most are Hollycraft pins, a couple of Weiss and one unmarked.  Ready to pin one on and head out the door.

Kane County Part II

Locket

Kane County today with Erin.  My treasure?  Spending the day with a good friend.  The 12K gold filled heart locket with sapphires for $10 was just a lucky find.  Our outings are really not about the stuff.  They are about spending quality time marking the days, joys, trials and events of our lives with a little vintage thrown in for distraction.

This is one of my all time favorite bracelets to wear out and about.  It goes well with any color and is always a conversation starter wherever I go.  That’s why I wear it!  Still looking for a few more states.  Linking to:  Nifty Thrifty Tuesday, Wow Us Wednesdays

Spring Break 2013

Flamingo-Pin

Bonita-Springs-Florida

Two guesses where I spent Spring Break this year.  It was a quick trip down to Florida to visit my parents.   The weather was a tad bit cool, but the pool was still inviting in the afternoons.  We visited my favorite antique mall in Naples, Treasure Island, where I snagged the cute vintage enamel flamingo pin to wear while in Florida.  My Mom and I also discovered a great antique estate liquidator that holds a monthly warehouse sale.  It was packed full and definitely a place to shop next time I’m in town.

Antique Garnet Initials

Antique-Garnet-Initials

Today was the 57th Emmanuel Episcopal Church Antique Show.  It was a chance to see and say hello to many of my favorite dealers.  The antique garnet initial pins made at the turn of the century were wonderful.   I just wish my name started with an E , A or V.  You still have a chance to get there as they are open tomorrow from 10am to 4pm.  Go!

Headband-Earrings-002

When my vintage earrings aren’t on my ears, they’re on my headbands adding a little vintage Bling to my day.  These earrings happen to be a pair that Erin passed on for her earring bracelets.  So, when she put them down, I snatched them up and said, I’m wearing these in my hair.  I also use them alone as hairclips without the headband for my bangs that are constantly in my way.    Actually, they make my bangs look better.  Vintage clip earrings are really beautiful and are out there in droves.  Use them.

Vintage Charm Necklace

This originally started out as a charm bracelet, but after 20 plus years of collecting I finally made it into a charm necklace.  The charms represent important aspects and events of my life over the years.  There is my high school ring, the homecoming disc, a wedding ring set , child silhouettes engraved with the name and birth date of each my 4 children along with every sport I play.  All of my collections and hobbies are also represented.  It is my life, and yes, I brush with Crest.   Even though it tends to be a little heavy around the neck, I still love telling the all the stories when people ask.  And they do.  Click HERE to read about my Christmas charm bracelet.
