While most of America is out Christmas shopping today, I’m home reading my new book, The Best Flea, Antique, Vintage and New-Style Markets in America. This is my gift book of the month suggestion if you have a traveling flea market friend. My New Year’s resolution for 2014 is to use it!
Vintage Wristwatches by Reyne Haines. Love, love, love this book.
My friend Maura and I compare books we read and this summer she recommended “Where’d You Go, Bernadette”. I can usually manage a book a day as we thankfully have no TV in the cottage. I can’t remember the last time I laughed so hard I cried. This book is hilarious. Read it.
Who knew that Madeleine Albright was a pin collector? Fun book, great stories. I started wearing select pins to staff meetings, but no one ever noticed. The messages must have been too subtle.
I just added about 10 more books to my must read list after finishing this book. I wish I could have met Will’s mother. I know I would have liked her.
I started my New Year’s off by reading the first book, What The Most Successful People Do On The Weekend at 6:30am because I just couldn’t sleep. Now, I just need to read the next two books and I am off to a flying start for 2013. I have two trips scheduled and am in the process of making my reservations NOW for Brimfield in May. I realize that at my new age, time is ticking and I for one, plan to make the most of it this year.
